We have a wedding to attend soon. I am in need of a dress!! The only problem is that I just had a baby and am still carrying a little more weight than I usual...especially in the mid section. What type of dress would work to cover up the baby belly and where should I buy it from?

I recommend trying to get a dress with an empire waist, which hangs right under the chest and not in the mid section. They have had some really cute geisha style dresses with this waist at Jc Penny's. Otherwise just got to a local department store and look for an empire waist dress. It will emphasize the bosom and emphasize the belly! Also, get something in black if possible, it always so slimming. Good Luck!

A good start when looking for a dress is the waistline of the dress. One of the cuts that really helps hide a wastline is an Empire-waist cut. Did you watch any of the Oscars this year? The dress that Jennifer Lopez wore by Marchesa with the diamonds on the collar is a GREAT example of an Empire waistline. Also, look for a dress that has vertical seaming under the bust, NOT horizontal! Vertical seams make you look much leaner and longer. You may also want to try a corset-style top for you dress. Corsets cinch at the waist to not only make you look thinner, but they actually DO make you thinner. Here is a great site to start with that shows lots of great examples of these styles:
