God is not supposed to be in American government. We have the right to worship as we wish (freedom of religion) and that's where it stops.

Hate to disagree with you, skippy, (well, not really, but I'm trying to be polite) but I agree with the removal of the Ten Commandments from in front of a court house. You want to put them in front of a church, fine, but religion and the administration of the law are two separate issues which cannot be combined according to the Constitution.

And the last time I looked (which was about five minutes ago), they had NOT removed "Under God" from the Pledge of Allegiance, nor had they removed the phrase "In God We Trust" from any of the currency.

The goverment is even trying to take the part of our currency that says "In God We Trust". Isn't it a shame that the government wants to do that because when something like Hurracaine Katrina or 9/11 happens, Americans begin with the "God Bless America". This country was founded by Christians, established by Christians, and has the Christian population exceeding other religions. It is a shame that because of the misunderstanding of what our consitution says, people try to remove God from our government system. Church and State says that the "state cannont keep someone from practicing religion, or should not force someone to practice religion." You have the choice to stand up and recite the pledge, and if you do not believe in God, simply sit back. In no way whatsoever is a state instution (in this case we are speaking of the government) forcing you to practice a religion. Reading the ten commandments posted somewhere doesn't mean you have to follow them. Using money that has the word "God" isn't forcing you to believe in him, yet the people and the government have not obviously realized that.

Yes. As the Constitution requires.

Article VI forbids religious oaths. And the 1st Amendment forbids any law "respecting the establishment of religion".

So, yes, the American government is not supposed to be promoting or endorsing one religion as more valid or more acceptable than any other.

now thats just stupid. this is the U.S. if they want to become americans, they should be able to adjust, if net, they can get out. berore you know it, sharia law might even be a part of the constitution. i think every one has to read the dec. of independence and see that this country was created by GOD himself, and to know that GOD will always be a part of this great nation.
