Forget PSG, they'll play in the second league next year.

Auxerre is much too small to pretent to any championship title (it never happened and probably won't).

Marseille got the potential (obviously) it terms of budget and structures (they still have the biggest french stadium, except the "stade de France" where no football team is regulary playing).
The problem of Marseille is their arrogance, they still believe they have the best team (you will hear every year that Marseille can win the championship...to finally finish around place 6-7).

Nowadays, the French league is clearly under the domination of Lyon, and it' not going to change so soon (they are building a new stadium with hotels, commercial centers etc...). Financially speaking (it's also important) Lyon is going pretty high for a french club.

Except Lyon, Lille has been the only regular (and progressing) team the last years. The club is also growing (a new stadium for next year should be completed) slowly but surely.
In the same vein Lens is doing a good season, but they are less regular that their neigbour (Lille is not so far).

Finally, Bordeaux is indeed coming back. They qualified for the champions league this year (it was very short but at least they've been in) and are still fighting for a champions league ticket for next year (which will be a good sign for them).
Apart from that, Sochaux (even if they are doing a good season) will not be able to keep key players.

The main problem of France is the lack of attractivity of the league. For instance, during the game MU-Lille, MU made a benefit of 7 millions euros (roughly)....it equals what Lille is earning during 2 years....
you can imagine the gap between the French and English team.

Thus, at the moment in France, the regular best teams are
Lyon (no doubt about it)
Lille
Lens
Bordeaux

Forget PSG and Marseille, those team have a glorious history in the French football...but that's all.

I hope not, the French league needs a serious change in dominance. One team glory gets VERY boring especially in a league with so much potential like the French one. The other clubs need to step up their games and bring Lyon down. Auxerre or Marseille would be good replacements.

There's no chance of anyone other than Lyon being crowned French champions at the end of this season; their lead is too big. However, next season, anything's possible: Juninho may or may not be coming back, and Wiltord isn't getting any younger. I wouldn't be surprised if they win again next season anyway though. Teams like Lens, Lille, Bordeaux, Marseille, Auxerre, and even Toulouse or Sochaux show glimpses of promise, but they don't look to me like championship-caliber teams.

No, too far ahead. What is PSG doing on the list??? They are near regulation zone. But no best team in France won't falter. Too far ahead.
