I am on the Mens Novice Crew Team at my school. One of the rowers and I had a 5 week relationship, I really cared about him and when we ended things for the sake of the team. We broke up cause he said he didn't know what he would do if he ever emotionally hurt me.

Its been about 3 weeks after and when we are out with the guys or intoxicated he feels the need to call me a "s1ut" or say "whore" under his breath like he does for all his other ex's.

This is really painful espically from him cause i don't get around and we we were together I cared for him and now I feel used.

How do I tell him to stop calling me these names?
Should I confront him infront of the team?
Send him an e-mail?

How do I put it so I don't sound like a crazy ex?

It sounds like this is his pattern of behavior, so don't expect much.

When he is sober, if you are comfortable in doing so, I would confront him. Do so in a non-confrontational, non-accusatory manner. Do NOT do it in front of the team.

Just tell him simply that you don't appreciate the names, and you expect respect, both as a teammate, and former attachment.

Just be straight to the point, take the high road yourself, and keep it positive. If he reacts poorly, avoid him and look for a Plan "B".

Obviously if he's psycho, or you feel threatened, consider a more structured intervention, perhaps a coach or intermediary person.
