Why do you have 5?

when one has to do mulitple drawings for the simpliest of cartoons..say the simpsons...it is faster and easier to draw the hand as a ball and giving it only a few fingers...
usually the little finger isn't drawn..and sometimes the thumbs because they are smaller and it is harder to put them in proportions..

Because it's really hard to draw 5 fingers and have it look right... I know, I've tried.

The illustrators don't want to draw or computerize all five fingers.

I guess because for them its a fourfinger world. The man who created the simpsons, matt groening, never drew chins for them because he said that for him its a chinless world. =)
