My question is that can i just start wearing contacts or do you have to start off with glasses first and then gradually after two years wear contacts? I dont want to wear glasses!!! Can you give me thorough answers plz!!!

I started wearing glasses when I was in kindergarden and I am the same age as you. I started off with glasses and got contacts when I was eight. If you really want contacts then practice pulling your lower eye lid down and gently touching your eye with your index finger. Once you are comfotable doing this you are ready for contacts. But, you need both glasses and contacts. I wear my contacts to school and to practice but then when I go to bed I take them out and wear my glasses. No one ever sees them except my best friends when I sleep over and my family. When you get your glasses though, try to keep them cute. Seventeen has a new glasses line and there are Coach glasses that are absolutely adorable. Good luck.

You don't need to wear glasses first. I had glasses but never wore them so i got contacts instead. However, if you don't need a very strong prescription, you might want to stick with glasses, but usually you can just get contacts.
The only thing you need worry about is if your eyes won't work with contacts. They can irritate your eyes or your eyes can have problems that makes so you can't wear contacts. Since you are 14 you shouldn't have to worry about age being a problem (I got my contacts when I turned 14). The majority of people can wear contacts with not problems; just consult your eye doctor to make sure!
I definitely understand why you don't want to wear glasses; I hated mine! Good luck!

You can start off with contacts. It's still a good idea to have a pair of glasses for at night/first thing in the morning when your contacts are out. Or if you lose a contact or get an eye infection. But there's no reason you can't get contacts right away. Just tell your eye doctor when you get your exam because they have to do different procedures for contacts.

last year..i needed glasses. im 13 now and i was 12 then. i didnt want glasses...but i decided i would get them. i dont have to wear them all the time..just to see the board or something in school. otherwise i take them off...i asked about contacts and the guy who gave me my eye prescrption said that contacts are usually less dangerous to the eye after the person has worn glasses. he didnt say 2 years...he said like maybe after a couple of months. and when u r tired of the glasses....and ur eyes are used to them. it should be okay to get contacts.

You can go right into contacts but I would have a pair of glasses as back up. Anything from allergies to just not getting enough sleep can make your eyes too sensitive to wear them everyday.
Of course, wearing contacts requires a lot more care and maintenance but it's all a matter of preference. (I've had students that didn't wear contacts because they didn't want the hassle.)
If you are pretty responsible when it comes to personal hygiene, then I would definitely give contacts a try.

The answer is more complex than that. Do you need them only for reading? If so, contacts are not the answer.

Also, if you have an astigmatism, you might not be a good candidate for contacts. They now have contacts that are "weighted" on the bottom, so that the correctly align for astigmatism, but they cost more and are more difficult to wear.

Finally, I am not a good candidate for contacts as my eyes are too sensitive to wear them and the shape of my eye is "too pointy", making the wearing of them more difficult.

Check with your eye doctor and ask for recommendations.

I think u can wear contacts directly.. Some of my friends said that if u are accustomed of wearing contacts, it will quite difficult for u to see things once u are without your contacts, no matter if u start off with glasses first. So, if u afraid this will trouble u, I suggest u alternate between glasses and contacts

get glasses for sure(you'll need them at night or if you loose your contacts or one breaks) then after you get your glasses you'll need to schedule an appointment with your eye doctor to get your contact prescription contact size. then you need to order the contacts and wait a week or two. and even when you get them you can only wear them for a couple hours a day. so yeah, get glasses...you'll need them, but you DO NOT need to wait two years after you get glasses. plus, if you get a cute pair of glasses it can add to your look.
