I've held off long enough (trying to avoid the trend), but now I really want an Ipod. I'm an adult, want to use it mainly for when I exercise, etc. Don't need a TON of music, but don't want one with too little of space that I'd end up having to replace it. Any recommendations?

hi! sounds like u want the nano or video - shuffle is entry level and u will definitely want to upgrade it since it has no screen. the nano is a little less expensive, but has limited features (no videos, movies, downloadable games). the video is a little more expensive, but u get more bang for ur buck - it supports all the features and innovations from apple/itunes (like videos, movies, video podcasts, etc).

amazon has the best prices, and more than likely u will pay no shipping or tax (depending on what state u r in). here's what i recommend:

ipod 30gb video for under $240: http://www.amazon.com/Apple-iPod-video-Black-Generation/dp/B000EPNDEG/ref=pd_bbs_sr_2/103-8059863-2711030?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1174757748&sr=8-2
ipod 2gb nano for under $150: http://www.amazon.com/Apple-iPod-Nano-Silver-Generation/dp/B000EP4TWQ/ref=sr_1_3/103-8059863-2711030?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1174758029&sr=1-3

there are a ton of great free video podcasts that u might be interested in - everything from science, news, sports to food. u can check out the video podcasts right in itunes before u decide which ipod to buy - just download itunes and go into Podcasts section of the iTunes Store.

DON'T GET AN IPOD SHUFFLE!!! because u cant see your songs to select. if i were you and u wanted an ipod i would get a ipod nano because u can get either a 2GB,4GB, or 8GB but if u dont want 2,000 songs+ don't go with the 8GB. and you know u wouldn't have to replace it if you got too many songs on it you can delete them from the ipod anytime and put new songs on it. if you want anymore info. about it go to the site that i put as my sources

and if you don't really want an ipod then samsung has some decent mp3 players

IPODs are the best known and therefore the most in-demand and there for more expensive brand of an MP3 player. You can research MP3 players and similar features as IPODs by going to a shopping search engine "shop bots" ( Cnet.com, MySimon.com, Pricegrabber.com )and typing in "MP3s". Another good place to do homework on what you really want is Consumer Reports.com. They are totally non-commercial so you can assume their answers aren't biased. Good luck!

Well, if it's only for music, i would go with the ipod nano because it's small so that you won't have to run with a huge device. If you don't need or want a screen, go with a shuffle.

you could get an ipod nano. Cheap, tiny, can fit up to 2,000 songs.
If you want something very small, and up to 500 songs, go with the ipod shuffle.
both come in cool colors.
enjoy!
