Palm Sunday, or Passion Sunday (or Palm Sunday of the Lord's Passion. There were originally two Sundays but the Catholic chuch decided to combine them). It is distinctive because Christians, especially Catholics, process with palm leaves to commemorate Christ's entrace into Jerusalem. An account of the Passion and Death of Christ from the gospel is also read on this day. It is the beginning of Holy Week, the most solemn week of the Christian year, culminating in the Triduum (Three Days) commemoration of Holy Thursday, Good Friday and the Easter Vigil.
