Any excessive engine vibration should be investigated. It could as simple as ehaust touching car body causing a vibration noise to a crankshaft that is unbalanced. Are the engine mounts ok? does the engine tend to move? hard to say what prob is due to not seeing car, good luck.

excessive vibration is often caused by a broken motor mount. Easy to check and easy to fix.
