30 Day Notice To Vacate Form

If you are in Boston then there is likely an association of apartment owners (it might have a name like "Multifamily Housing Council") that publishes inexpensive forms for residential rentals, such as leases, notices of termination, notices to pay rent, and the like. There will also be a legal publishing company near the courthouse that will sell forms for 50c or $1 each. Because landlord-tenant law is different in each state you should not rely on any form that wasn't specifically written for Massachusetts. It's well worth the small cost to get approved forms from a reliable source instead of trying to save a few pennies by getting a free form that may not have been prepared to comply with the law of the state of the rental.

I have heard of Homeward Bound at Hamilton and I also happen to have EAH as my property management co. You could call them at 258-1800 and ask some questions. The 30 day notice does not apply to Homeward Bound since it is not an apartment. Transitional housing has different rules. Sec 8 voucher holders still have to pay 1/3 of their rent, not free. If you stay at the transitional place you might have to pay more but that is better than going to the shelter. You can call a few other agencies for help and call Legal Aid in San Rafael and Center Point for homeless advocacy. You should also speak to someone at Marin Housing Authority for advice. Try everyone.
