I am moving from TX to Vancouver Canada. I have to drive my two big dogs. Has anyone had good/bad experiences with renting a 26' U haul truck? I am a 50 yr. old lady with no big rig experience. I will be alone with my dogs. It's approx. 3000 miles. Is there a better rental company? Thanks.

Be certain to take a non acrylic blanket or some sort of seat cover. The seats are hyde of nauga and do not breath at all and that is not butt friendly.
If you are not used to driving something so big plan on making it a night driving trip. The big rig drivers are pros and there is less likelihood of a car cutting you off.
Every truck I have rented from U-Haul has been exceptionally clean, performed well and seemed to be well maintained. One other very important thing is to make certain to pack it tightly so you have no load shift.

It's been some years since I've used them, but I've never had a bad experience with them. The trucks are easy enough to drive and in good shape.

The only time I've had a bad experience was one time I was pulled over by the WV State police for a burned out taillight. I could have called U-haul but it was late on Sundaqy night, so I taped the brake light switch sown and the cop let me go on.

ANY company is better than U-HAUL ! I rented one to drive cross country, they didn't have it available and gave us a larger truck (more gas $), the radio died after 100 miles, the A/C didn't work, the muffler got so loud that we couldn't talk to each other in the cab of the truck and we got pulled over for having dead license plates! (The cop said he could have impounded the truck!) The don't take care of their vehicles, use another company! ...and check the plates before heading out!

We didn't have a problem with it when we moved but we didn't go a long distance. Good luck and takes lots of breaks.
