Why 'mickenzie"? The Scottish original name would be Mackenzie or McKenzie, but putting an 'i' in place of the 'a', won't do him or you any favours at all. A lot of people will ask 'Couldn't you spell McKenzie?'
A young guy I work with has the name Darrain, which, if you say it fast, becomes Drain. I asked him which planet his parents were on when they gave him a name like that, rather than Darren, or even Darryn. Please, don't give your child a name that he or she have to live with all their lives or at least until they come of age whereby they can change it if they don't like it.
For what it's worth, a lot of Scottish christian names are also surnames, or vice versa, so ordinarily, there would be no problem with the 2 suggestions above.

I know a McKenzie that's a boy. I'm not totally sure I like the Mickenzie feel, but it's cool. And it definitely works just as well for a boy.

I'm not sure I even like it for a girl, maybe too overused at present. Too many wierd variations of spelling. Never heard it fo a boy, even though if I didn't know better I'd think more boys than girls would have it for a name. Mick as a nickname may be the only hope.

I've never really heard of it for a boy but it's a GIRL'S name so I don't know why someone would do that to their kid. It's like Taylor-why not just go with Tyler. There is (or was if he moved) a boy in my grade (8th) named Mack, I don't know if thats short for Mackenzie but no, he'll get picked on. Mackenzie is not unisex, it's a girl's name.

I've never really seen it used for a boy..I think it's more of a girl name. My husband's little girl cousin has that name, but it's Meckenzie.
I don't like it for a boy.

I hate to be mean but he WILL get made fun of in highschool for it. I mean it's an ok name, but kids are mean and will get at him for just about anything. I'm a sophomore and i have heard people say mean things about people names, and such.
