I don't recall there being any qualifying groups/matches!

There are a few pre-qualifying matches but obviously not on the scale of the football world cup as there aren't that many cricket-playing nations. Look at this quote from the ICC website:
"Though this CWC is still in progress, qualifying is already underway for 2011 and already some teams, such as Chile, Rwanda, Saudi Arabia and Slovenia, have missed their chance of making it to the finals but others, including Argentina, Afghanistan, Botswana and Norway are still in with a shout."

1. All Test plaing countries+
2. Only one day playing countries+
3. The quater finalists( 4 teams) of non- test playing countries's " world cup-qualifier round"

hey they don't qualify,there r only about twenty cricket playing nations......so only three or four countries play to qualify,others go automatically
