I don't really feel that their standards are any different. The shows are smaller and not as glamorous, but it's a way to get your dogs blood line out there to different organizations. AKC is considered the mother of the kennel clubs because it brings in so much revenue and so many over seas blood lines are brought to their shows. UKC, AKC, and CKC also make owning one of their registered dogs easier for people that would not be able to own a certain blood line if there was just one organization. CKC also holds sanctioned shows for breeds that are not not yet recognized by AKC- such as the Mini Daschund. So people who own certain breeds are able to get points for their dogs.

Yes, the CKC has much looser standards than that of the AKC. Basically when there is some problem with proving the line of your dog but it's purebred so you can't register with AKC people go CKC.

CKC dogs are not as good quality dogs and they are less strict. AKC dogs are more expensive because they are better quality and show quality, they have higher standards.
my dog is AKC but shes not a show dog, she was about $700

They are less strict than the AKC as far as what types of dogs can be registered and their standards for show dogs.
I suppose that can be better for people who care if they can brag that their dog is a "registered" dog.

I've heard of the ACA, but not the CKC. ACA is the AMerican Canine Association.
