We've been dating almost three months and I was wondering do you think a relationship in high school can last forever? My boyfriend and I talk about never breaking up and staying together for a long time is that possible? I really love him and he feels the same way about me. I want to go to college to become an Opera singer and if that doesn't work out I have back up plans to do something music related, but he doesn't really know what he wants to pursue and he'll be a senior next year and I'm a freshman. He said when I'm gone away at college for four years he'll wait for me it just sounds too good to be true, but he said he would wait that long because he said he hadn't dated for eight years until he met me. I know I'm thinking too much, but I really love him and he means the world to me and I mean the same thing to him what should I do?

Don't plane to far in the future,b/c you can never know what could happen just be thankful that you have such a wonderful guy and take it day by it's good to tlk about these things and let ur b.f know how ur feeling the best thing for a relationship is communication, don't ever be afraid to tell him how u feel and if he really cares about u the way he says he does then he'll listen and never judge.

Ever heard of High School Sweethearts? Nothing's too good to be true. Almost all relationships end like that now...just doubts and overthinking. Not ALL guys follow the stereotypical scene. He just happens to be the guy every girl dreams but thinks doesn't exist. He actually means he wants to wait. So just go with the flow and whatever happens happens

After 3 months itsstill a new thing and you only see the rosy side of things - lots can happen to any relationship especially with college and stuff happening. Saying that if he is "The One" then no amount of time apart or events will split you up - you are both young and you have years ahead of you so just don't rush into things and take things as they come - just enjoy the moment!

I would say to be patient, don't focus on whether it will work but instead look at how you are going to make it work. True love is hard to come by and if you two know in your hearts that you are the ones for each other, have faith that he will wait for you. In answer to your other question, I am in my late thirties and have several friends that have married their high school sweethearts and are still very much in love, some have just celebrated their 20th anniversaries. I wish you the best of luck.

Some guys are different!!! If he really loves you he'll wait, but what'll happen after he graduates? If he starts acting weird, like always gone, out with the guys more often, won't talk to you or e-mail you much anymore, starts calling you muffin or baby or sweetie instead of your name more and more often then he's already gone!!!

thats awesome, but realistically, you have to think of taking things one day at a time. Sure you can still be together, but as with anything, there's a 50/50 chance...either you will, or you wont. so with that said, just enjoy life and your relationship and dont worry about the future...there's no rush!

Well that's pretty interesting that he will wait for you, especially for the fact that you have so many years between you. In my world, relationships don't usual last. But I would give it a try!

you want to spend the rest of your life with someone who has no future plans? yeah, ok. take it day by day, don't have sex with him (you're too young), and if things go ok, try to get him to do something with his life. when people go to college, sometimes feelings change.
