I really dont understand why there are so many steryotypes with emo ppl...like last year in school everyone called me emo.....and i never really knew what emo meant before that...i just thought i was a normal kid with a different taste in music and i think i never knew if i was emo or not because i never believed in those stupid steryotypes....i just think emo people have deeper minds and think more about stuff...i know i do...and i think because of that there is so many things that seem so negative...and just so the world knows NOT EVERY EMO SLITS THEIR WRISTS AND WANTS TO DIE.....

Because the emo lifestyle is irrationally depressing. It makes kids cut themselves for the most superficial reasons.
Believe it or not, people don't hate emo kids just because they think they're posers. People hate emo kids because emos put it upon themselves to be hated, I guess it makes it more worthwhile to cut and bleed when "the whole world f*ing hates you".

why cant people wear hollister and not be a poser? cant they just like holister?! no matter what you say, ALL emo people are imitation goth posers. emo kids are not cool. we have about 20 of them at my school and they are into star wars and cutiing themselve and watching harry potter marithons. you guys are just nerds who have cooler clothes and like to feel sorrry for yourselfs and mope about. your right preppies are uncool. but emos are not any cooler than them. im sorry if this sounds harsh but its true.
P.S. To EMOtianal: all emos have to be alike other wise there would not be a group called emos. its a define genre and to be in it you have to fit the definition of Emo. just because you listen to emo music does not make you emo. just like just wearing emo style clothes does not make you emo. its a combination of attitude, dress and lifestyle that YOU ALL HAVE otherwise you are not emo.

people automatically assume that most emos are all alike, which isn't necisarilly true! they hate everything about emos... well, what if i said i hate everything about preps! they're a bunch of hollister, abercrombie wearing bit**es who comment on every fu***ng thing, are posers when it comes to music, and have no personal opinions.. They follow the system!

Maybe it's because Emo kids act like they are the best thing since sliced bread when all they do is sit around listening to bad music, wearing all black, behaving depressed (for attention) and cutting themselves.

Because they are whiny and depressed when they have no reason to be. It just annoys people to deal with them when they are so into themselves and their own little sad world. They need to open their minds and stop hating everyone for no reason.
