They are so weird! I think some if them are "to close". My sons birthday party is coming up and I had to invite them how is the best way to ignore them without being rude? Is that even possible?

It's rare, but I actually enjoy being around my in-laws, but my wife is always anxious for the visit to end.
If you ignore your inlaws, you are being extremely rude. They are your guests regardless of how weird they seem. You should learn how to connect with them. It may not be easy.
All human beings, regardless of their social status or degree of weirdness, deserve to be treated with kindness and compassion. Find a way to love and understand them and put your own ego away for a while.

Yeah invite them but make sure that you are kept busy with your son and his friends so that you do not need to spend much time with the in-laws - greet them with a smile and apologise that you are unable to sit and talk as you are too busy and that you will catch up with them later (just forget to do it until they leave and then smile and say "another time then")

I had a lot of the same problem dealing with some of my husbands family as I am sure he did of mine too. I am as nice as I can be around them but they really got to me for years, I tried sooooooooooo hard to get along and have them like me. But no more! Now they have either take me or leave me, I did it all and nothing worked!!!!!!

Yeah, everyone, lol. Just be civil to them. Be polite when you have to deal with them and deal with them as little as possible without being obvious. I've found in-laws won't change so you have to bite the bullet.

every one hate their in laws it is common.
and but you have to like they are part of a family. may be they can not be your part but they are the part of your husband and your childern
sorry but not inviting them is rudeness in any possible way.
call them and invite them. it will your husband and your childern happy.
you just have to tolerate them and like them
