Ultrasounds are usually accurate within about 1 week. They measure the length of your babys femur, spine, head, etc. to determine the gestational age of your baby.

Yeah ultrasounds are quite accurate, even if the sonographer is a complete dolt (the pictures can show the doc how old baby is). Don't worry about not showing. Maybe are you tall and skinny? When I had my first baby (that was when I was skinny. i'm still tall) I did not show until I was 7.5 months, no joke! ANd even then people were afraid to ask me because I didn't show as much as most. I wore regular clothes until 6 months! Then I blew up at 9 month :) Congrats on your pregnancy, and shame on your doctor for criticizing the hospital and making you worry! You usually get an ultrasound at 20 weeks for anatomy/sex. It's completely routine! DOn't worry.... you'll be fine!!!

People show at different rates. I didnt start really truly showing untill 28 weeks along. Ultrasounds are one of the most accurate ways of telling how many weeks you are. More so then when your last period was becuase some women dont know their cycles as well as they think.

the ultrasound tech takes measurements for different body parts of the baby and uses thows compared to other measurements. That is how the "age" of the baby is determined. so your baby may be bigger is small than the average measurement. that does not mean anything is wrong. everyone grows at their own rates. so unless your due date changed by ultrasound by more than a week your doctor probably wont change your due date.

The earlier you are, the more exact they are. As the baby gets bigger, it is harder to tell its size and lenght. I would go with your earlier one. Although doctors always are changing due dates because of ultrasound. The 2 weeks shouldnt be a big difference as long as it would normally be full term.

i didnt start to really show till about my 20th week..and the ultrasounds are more accurate..they go off by the weight of the baby and all...im 31 weeks but my ultrasounds have been saying that im technically 33 weeks..so i just say im due anywhere from may11-25...b.c their not really sure...so dont worry...just be excited.. good luck and congrats..

well lets just say my ultrasound put me to deliver at july9,2006 and when i went by my period i was due on the 18th, i delivered my son july,16. the ultrasoiund guy gave me a couple dates first it was june 28th then it was july5 and then 8th then 9th he couldnt make up his mind!!! congrats you wouldnt show that much depending on how much water you retain you dont want to retain a large amount i never started to show till my 5th month. if this is your first kid usually you dont pop out everyone shows different. she might be as big as a whale so to speek and you might be as big as a basketball. (belly wise) just depends on the way your body is are you smaller than her taller than her everything counts

ultrasounds are pretty accurate, but even they cannot determine when your little one wants to meet the world unfortunately :(
