Sounds like the teenagers are the problem. We should probably get rid of them. Then things would be better.

I believe you but those stasticis are stagering.
Where are the parents? We do need sex education and how to protect them form predators and drinking and drugs and tobacco. There is some more startleing stastics. Many young men who were raised in foster homes when they reach 18 and graduate high school. if they can't get a job right away and out on their own join the military as a quick way to get a life.
In fact it is encouraged. So the military has a lot of these thrown away children male and female from broken homes, poor familys and run aways join to find a place to live and stability. Then they are used again as throw aways in a foreign war.
what if those 2000 or so teens were told if you commit sucide in this mission to kill the infidels you go to heaven with 70 virgins waiting for you? told to you by a respected religious leader?

Wow. What failures. It makes me wonder if they can't kill themselfs how are they going to kill others if this country needs defending. >.>

In anycase, I don't think, even with all those stats, this country (America) is ruined. Thats a reletively small number that only looks big if you don't look at the big picture.

Also, alot of those things are not really all that bad, and all of those things happen everywhere, not just here (often in even greater numbers).

I agree, the statistics are shocking, but I wonder...

Maybe the stats for these things weren't as high long ago, but if you figured all that as a percentage (of the population), would it really have increased that much? Remember that the overall population of the world (our country, included) has increased, too.

Honestly, I tend to think along the lines of our world is falling apart. Nobody has morals and values anymore, less and less people are following God. It has become a world where everyone is selfish and spiteful. But really, I wonder if it has changed so much, or if it's only that I think it has.

There are 300,000,000 people here and stuff like this is going to happen. The problem lies with the government trying to enforce measure to prevent health problems, pass gun laws, and other enforcements over law abiding citizens while criminals do what ever they want. Our legal system treat people who have lived a life of crime with pity and allow them to roam the streets but when a non-offender makes a mistake, they are in for life. The only way to change the system is to spill blood. I know people say violence does not solve anything but if you look at world history, violence is the only answer when you need to remove people from power.

Modernization in every civilization have caused a lot of those things you mentioned even in the past. It does not only happen in a free country it also happen in any controlled society. It could be US time to undergo such tragedy but America is a very hopeful country filled with hopeful people and that is the bright side you have to look into also.

Apparently we have to accept the fact that America is not the best country for living and settling in the world anymore, despite of its fab and influential entertainment business. USA now mentally is not even better than other developing countries. Those facts certainly show us there are so many unhappiness inside America and their incapability to put things in perspective instead telling people and others to pray all the time for them.

Well,to me it seems like the interest this country puts into a persons mental stability isn't focused upon as it should be.It would seem like we would place more preventive pre-care programs in place in order to prevent a lot of these problems we face in our country.Plus, in my opinion,it would take more people with concern for human life to place the necessary programs into play to focus on the raising number of personal mental condition that seems to be failing. If we were a concerned and caring nation of people as we proclaim to be.Instead of being involved in COSTLY OUT OF COUNTRY involvements! We would be placing the MUCH NEEDED RESOURCES into our own PEOPLE.But instead, when it comes time for us and our needs,it seems that there is always an issue with cost! I would rather go bankrupt taking care of HOME.Think about it like this...
...If you place someone in charge of taking care of your homes "business of interest" and they notice a problem with food in the home, and composed a list of all the items that are necessary, and instead of making it a priority chose to spend money on movie tickets!
