I am agreed with going into the country to remove Saddam from power, though I thought it would have been hella better if we had more support from other countries. But for the life of me I can not understand why we are still there.
Even if we manage to calm the insurgency no matter what we do as soon as we leave everything will flare back up.
To me it seems inevitable and that there are only two outcomes, the US stays in Iraq and it becomes a situation like Israel and Palestine, or we leave and everything collapses for a while until some dictator manages to bring stability to the country.
The insurgents are not going to go away because Iraq is a rallying cry for all those who think against the US in the region. It is as if we stuck our hand in a camp fire and are only trying to keep our hand from catching fire. Dont mind the fact that the only way to be sure of that would be to put out the camp fire. And the only way to put out the camp fire is to use both hands to get a bucket.

The main rationale for invading Iraq was just to remove Saddam from power?
I guess that thing about him being a threat to the world with his WMD stockpiles was just a ruse, huh?
We're going to lose this war the hard way: In defeat. It's already happened.
Bush is just too blind at the moment to see it.
More troops in, isn't going to change the overall picture. The insurgency isn't being defeated by any means brought forth by the coalition forces, and Malaki's government is just as ineffective, corrupt, and incompetent as our own.

We did and continue to have support from other countries in Iraq. Hopefully, we can stabilize the country to the point where the Iraqis can take over themselves. A third outcome is that it becomes a democracy like Israel.

for the first time you came to Iraq( by the way i'm an Iraqi girl) i said "oh my god finally i can live in freedom, wearing what i like to wear and i can do any thing i want with no one tell me why" then when the war started and when you found Saddam i was very happy and when Aiad Alawy won to be chief minster you can't imagine my happiness at that time, alot of Iraqis worked with US and English army,....., but then when the terrorists took place in my country and when the religous people who don't know what's the meaning of the religion and i still not sure that they are realy Iraqis(Muktadda al sadder, Al Hakkeem and thier fellow men) began to lead Iraq, i became disapionted at that time because every one was afraid to say the truth, but in spite of all that i still hopeful and i still believe that some day you will make us live in peace as you promised us, and we'll help you against all the terrorists because now i'm not afraid to face the terrorists any more because in spite of all these bad situations in iraq , i realized that (east or west home is the best) so i wanna thank you for your helping , you tought me to say the truth where ever i were, thanx............. i know i spoke alot but i realy want you to understand that we can't live with you becuase we need you to be in Iraq.......

Lets see MY CONTACT==Which one do you want=how about destroying the terriorists in their own country, instead of ours= make scents, OK heres one for female slaves. Oh yeh your a lady how would YOU feel if your parents sold you to ? for a better life. First for sex then trained to serve-no more sex just work= no more anything. Thats the main reason they appose democracy and fight, only we're not fighting Iraqis= we're fighting alquida in Iraq and the so-called civil war is terriorists against Iraq and the coalition forces.

this might in basic terms be between the comments previously something is finalized. besides, a troop withdrawal does not advise we are leaving Iraq completely. we are able to nevertheless be in contact in preparation Iraqi troops and operations against Al Qaida. Even the Democrats approve of that. we are unlikely everywhere for some years yet to come back, that i can assure you.

To put it in laymans terms and hope that I don't sound like an idiot, Iraq is basically our baby now. As cranky and costly and unpopular as it is we have to keep it until it is big enough to stand on its own. It was bad before but we adopted it and it's ours so now we have to raise it as best we can and hope that it will eventually be a credit to the rest of the world.

The reason was to get WMDs
Then it switched to removing Saddam and "liberating" them.
Switching reasons for war is so horrendously wrong
