Clarification:

1. I am a Mason and still dont have the answer to this.

2. I'm not referring to THE SKULL AND BONES SOCIETY but rather emblems or signs that are on some Masonic rings and clothing.

I don't understand your question. Freemasonry and the Skull and Bones are two completely different things. Therefore, which are you asking about?

Update:
I am also a Mason. However, I have never seen a skull and bones emblem on any Masonry related clothing or jewelry. The closest I have seen to what you are describing are items used to represent Hiram Abiff during degree work. If you have an example you can link to, then I will take a look and see if I can find an answer.

Its not a great secret. Its symbolic for human mortality. The Skull & Cross Bones symbol is associated with the phrase “Memento Mori,” which is Latin for “Remember you are mortal” and “Remember you must die.” This is a reminder of the temporary nature of human life, and the inevitability of death which a man must contemplate and reflect upon before making any life long decision, like vowing to be a good man for the rest of your life, and eternity, and or becoming a knight. In olden times a knight to be would often spent a whole night in prayer contemplating such things before he would be made a knight.

Two pieces of advice

1.Pick up a book called The Hiram Key

2. It's a secret society for a reason. They usually don't like folks asking too many questions about certain things. The information they do release, they are allowed to. If you don't know the answer about this kind of stuff, you're not meant to.

all hogwash. It's club of ambitious people who help each other get ahead; by cheating, lying, promoting, recommending and hiding the truth for each other.
