Ferrets are physically capable of swimming yes.
But like dogs, whether or not your ferret would choose to, or be comfortable trying to is a matter of conditioning.
As to how to get your ferret to like it, it helps if you start them off when they are young. Then start gradually introducing them in to the water. Perhaps by holding your ferret and taking a bath etc.

Yes ferrets can swim although many would rather not. On the other hand many ferrets would and could swim all day if you let them. But in general, yes ferrets can swim but the question is do they want to? My ferret absolutly HATES water and my sisters ferrets don't mind water.

Hi, yes ferrets can swim but not forever so don't let your ferret swim for too long and also just in case i would be with your ferret when he is swimming. Like don't put him in the bathtub and walk away. it also depends on if your ferret is old or sick. So if she looks like he is having trouble swimming or doesn't like to swim don't make her.
Good Luck With Your Ferret!,

First of all ferrets can swim some. It is important not to leave them in a tub by themselves. Give them enough water to play in, but not enough that won't allow them to touch bottom comfortably. Make sure nothing will startle or scare them while they are in the bath. The water needs to be luke warm. Not hot or cold.
We have had several ferrets and most loved the water. Once in awhile you will find one who doesn't. When this happened with us, I gave them their baths quickly and removed them from the situation they feared.

yes, ferrets can swim...in fact they are exellent swimmers :) might want to look up some pics on google or yahoo :) there are always cute pics there anyways :) but, ferrets tend to have a mind of their own and they only swim when they want.... usually best is when its very warm out. but make sure there is a way for your ferret to be able to get out on its own or it might just begin to develope a fear of water !

Some ferrets...when they are not forced to do so...love water! On the other hand, if you put them into a shallow tub of water to bathe them for example, they HATE IT.
During the summer time I offer my ferrets one of those huge, and heavy water dishes for dogs...they dip their head and paws in but that is it!
Ferrets paws are designed for wadding and swimming in shallow waters, however, I have yet to see it. :)

Cover pastry case with parchment paper and fill with pastry beads or rice and blind bake for 15 mins, remove from oven. 5. Remove pastry beads/rice. Reduce oven temperature to 180°C. 6. Break up chocolate and place in a dish and place over simmering water to melt the chocolate. Add the sugar, vanilla paste, cream, combine. 7. Remove from heat and add the eggs and salt. 8. Pour into pastry case and bake for 25 to 30 mins until set. 9. Just before serving sprinkle with icing sugar and serve with whipped cream.
