A small fan blowing across the water surface will increase evaporation, and help cool the tank. Cooler water changes, about 2F cooler, are often used to induce spawning of many fish. I do this with many species, and much cooler than 2F. I often do daily 10% water changes on 84F angel tanks with 40F water to induce spawning, with no ill effect.

An often overlooked topic. Fluctuations of temperature should be moderate and controlled at all times. The optimum temperature varies from fish to fish, but too cold or to warm will cause stress. Keep in mind that a tank in direct sunlight will heat up during the day. The water temperature may also rise during the light-on period. This can be more of a concern with smaller tanks.
Water changes cause stress as well. It is important to replace the water with fresh water, which is about the same temperature as the tank. Further, the cleaning and removal process disturbs fish. Considering this, it ads validity to the discussion about proper water changes = change less water more frequently.

Look on ebay. They have cooling units, that operate like filters, with a supply and return. They can be expsenive depending on the size of your tank. If you live in an area where your water temp rises significantly, you may consider moving your tank to a room that has an A.C. or buying a cooling unit. Another thing to consider is putting your lights on a timer.

Over an rather long era, particular. Do you already know the cost that evaporation happens? it rather is not precisely as rapid because of the fact the approach of melting ice caps, and particular, i'm speaking approximately those on land in Antarctica and those in the Arctic. you're appropriate, ocean tiers might drop, it rather is especially because of the fact the Earth has developed a device for conserving itself over the long term. while we are long long gone, it rather is going to nevertheless be here. So particular, at last, the device might create cloud conceal that could stabilize the device. i'm fairly conscious of that scientific rationalization. yet that's the equivalent of asserting "nicely, if I keep pouring water right into a cup, yet I warmth up the cup under its boiling element, it rather is going to evaporate quicker than i can upload the water." that doesn't make scientific experience. Edit: Bob G - the flooding element is especially a lot particular. i'm particularly perplexed as to why people keep thinking that element. classes of warming over the final thousands and thousands and billions of years have been linked with growing to be waters. i don't see that as some thing which could be argued. on the different hand, you're appropriate approximately flowers, ordinarily. there's a extensive share of flowers (not all flowers) that do thrive in those environments. the undertaking is that people are not equipped to do nicely in that variety of ecosystem. flowers have been here long previously us because of the fact they could stay to tell the story that ecosystem on an identical time as heat blooded animals like ourselves ought to not. they are going to be here long while we are long gone.

This is the main reason I stopped keeping salt water fish. I put the tank downstairs, I got a fan to cool the lights, but it wasn't enough. The only solution is an expensive chiller.

Things like ice will temporarily bring down a temperature. Fish are more durable than you'd expect, so long as you keep up with water changes.
