Well depending on where you live the process of divorce could take awhile. Also, one or the other might wait to sign papers to prolong everything. I would dig a little deeper and find out more before you pursue anything more with him. The only way I would accept that he was still married is if they're going through the process of divorce.

That's something that would have to change. The still married needs to take the first steps and initiate the divorce proceedings.
Besides the obvious, it would bring a lot of unneccessary crap into the new relationship. Not healthy in anyway. Clearly shows the person is not ready to let go of the old, not ready to really commit to the new.

relationships are complicated things and if they have been split up for a long time then maybe they can move on and be with someone else in a long term relationship, providing they are planning on divorce !! from the ex per say.
i see no reason why somone cant be able to move on as long it is over with the first for certain, can take a while for divorce and things... why not live your life enjoy it

Hi Honesty, No i would not. Every time he would have a problem he would run to her for advice. He would also talk about you to her. That would be a no win relationship. An Ex. is and Ex for a reason. A Friend.

I would not get myself into a long term relationship with a married person. If they want to move on to another relationship, they need to deal with ending the first.

You are the only one who can decided whether to accept it. Sounds like it bothers you.
Depending on how long is "long", it is probably time for him to get divorced, especially if you want him to. It's a simple matter of respect for your feelings.
Ask him why he doesn't do it. Is it financial, or is one or the other holding out hope of getting back together?
Good luck.
