In my province, it is not illegal to shoot beaver if you are aboriginal (which I am). In fact, it is a traditional dish... though I've only tried it once.

That'll get you a stiff jail term here. You can stroke & kiss them, though, with permission, if they are domesticated. In the wild, they are very dangerous - beware!
