I miss the heck out of the Expos! The logo and colors were ahead of there time. The original team in 1969 even had future hall of famer Maury Wills at SS!
They had a few good years there in the 80's with stars like Tim Raines, Andre Dawson, Gary Carter and Steve Rogers. Then a mini revival in the 90's, before Bud Selig decided in 2003 not to allow them to call up any minor leaguers on September 1 due to a lack of funds. This doomed their playoff chances that year and demonstrated to Expos fans in Montreal that MLB had no intention of keeping them around.
The Expos are just another example (along with realignment) of Bud knows best! LOL
Bring back Youppi!

I loved the Expos, unfortunately I live 1500 km away so attending games was a bit out of the question. I honestly think that if the Expos had been able to build the new stadium downtown like they wanted, and with a little luck like not having the lockout/strike wipe out their best season ever, then who knows? The Expos might have had a fighting chance. But since they didn't, old fans of the Expos will have to reminisce about the good ole' days of Wallach, Carter, Dawson, Raines, Brooks, The Big Cat, and others.

It's a shame that they had to pack up and move. Maybe if they had hit with hockey sticks, the people up there would have shown up to support them? But they also had two bad parks to play in - Jarry Park was bad enough, but to move them into the behemoth of Olympic Stadium was stupendously stupid. There was not a worse atmosphere in professional sports. A lot of colleges have better facilities then Les Expos were afforded. Overall, they were doomed from the start, back to the times of "Le Grand Orange" (Rusty Staub). You put a game people really don't understand completely in a town, and why would they show up? One of baseball's all-time stupid moves. I hope they succeed as the Nats, but so far, the owner is afraid to let the moths out of his wallet. I fear they could be contracted or be moved yet again. New ballpark be damned.................

I really could care less as a Red Sox fan but after seeing the Washington Nationals fill in, they should still have the Expos.
They weren't too bad in Year 1
but since they are TERRIBLE
without Soriano they would be double worse than Kansas City. And he's gone now.

too bad not many more people felt like you.. maybe they would not have left. Toward the end I think a lot more minor league teams were drawing more of a crowd then the Expos.

They could never get the proper fan support in Montreal. That's why they are now the Washington Nationals.
