The benefits are:
- to keep dust and grit out of the vagina
- to show a woman is an adult and of breeding age
- to attract men
- to act as a cushion during sex
- to keep pheromones (sexy scents) near the vagina
- to keep the vulva clean
- I think it looks very pretty

I don't think it should always be covered. It shoud be covered when someone who will be offeneded by it will see it. The rest of the time it can be uncovered or covered, it makes no difference. I don't mind seeing it at all.

Pubic hair in men and women is a "lubricant" during sex to stopped the skin from being chaffed.

Should it be covered in public, YES. But I also think male genetilia and breasts should be covered too

Anatomically speaking; its benefit is the same as male pubic hairs and beard. Some doctors say it is for acting as a cushion.

pubic hair keeps the body from sweating and/or getting heat irritation. Also, in the vaginal area, it keeps you from trickling down your legs when you sit to pee. Gross, I knos, but try shaving it off and you will see this is true. Definitely keep it covered. They don't call it a bikini line for nothing. :)

I do not see any benefit of it except that is natures way of differenciating the "women" from the girls. YES, keep it covered.
