The ICC should be held responsible to fixing the qualifying levels. There are some eight to nine teams that are playing the world cup right from it's inception. There are certain countries in every world cup will be entered as new entrant,
either the new entrants should be grouped together and from them super 8 's should be selected or else the round robin leauge fixtures would have appllied or how the world cup matches have played earlier should have been adopted .If the previous one playing two matches against the same nation should have been adopted.Every now and then changing the qualifying level , will yeild this type of result were India ,Pakistan already out countries like Bermuda and Bangladesh is still fighting for the last leg.It is for this once in 4yrs this type of matches is being conducted and huge amount is being spent only to see the qualifying matches of Indian subcontinent and the Pakistan. It is not so.Mohinder Amarnath once called the Indian selectors as Bunch of Chokers, incompetant fools called the umpire,...................... the ICC is there only to dominate others , nothing but to give live to the game.

we all are responsible for the dismal performance. firstly the picthes in India are not what is provided elsewhere in the world we should prepare pitches as would be made abroad - this would give us players fit on international pitches and not on Indian pitches alone .
the public requires heroes- the politicians are notorious and very often do not measure up to the expectations of the public. the film stars are not liked by every body, we need heroes and a winner like sania mirza do provide a hero for the public same with our cricket team as long as they are winning.
But they are not gods - we should have the courage to tell sachin tendulkar that u r too old and totally out of form so what if u had been a good batsmen in previous years so what if ur history is good - nobody drives a vehicle seeing the rear view mirror
whenever our cricket team loses a match we should boycott all products like pepsi siyarams etc using all cricket players so that the concentration is on cricket and not on advertisements
every year we should retire two players and take on two new players
domestic cricket needs sprucing up - the BBCI should share money for promising players to go abroad and Ranji trophy etc should enable foreign players to participate in state teams like in UK county matches
we are a billion plus population and cricket is played in every mohalla all we need is less of politicks and more of the game

All of the people you have named are responsible to a certain degree. Chappell and Dravid being at the helm, should primarily own up for the debacle. And why exclude the BCCI too? I wouldn't say that defeat at the hands of Sri Lanka was an unexpected shock. But if they hadn't suffered a shocking defeat at the hands of Bangladesh, they would have sailed into Super 8 anyway. If India, touted as possible victors of WC 2007, can't handle minnows Bangladesh, why did they go to the West Indies? For leisure and shopping? Team India looked unmotivated and disjointed from start to finish. Let us not kid ourselves with unrealistic dreams. There are far superior teams than India who really deserve to win the cup.

I feel that there is no cooperation in the team.Since, most of Thom say Ashien is a great player,he has got the head weight and he does not realise that he no more plays like a normal or an ordinary cricket player does.......so i feel that this time since he has not even got a run,its because of him...not wholly.but partly....the main thing is that we should not be over confident..none of our indian team members except for ganguly this time, have put their best..

It's a combination of all the things that you have mentioned but my personal belief is that Indian cricketers are loaded with money and fame that they feel invisible by the people or the media. Deep down they know that they have already achieved their goal to make money and the name recognition that the outcome of any tournament can't take away from them. Cricket to them is just an entrance to the bigger and better things in life if you know what I mean.

Its of course a dismal failure a shameful performance by the whole Indian team. They win as a team they loose as a team too. You forgot the main BCCI selectors too in your list. Money makes the whole difference man.

We are responsible for the dismal performance because we start doing the hero worship and treat players like Sachin, Saurav,Rahul and Sehwag as demi gods and they start feeling over confident and they feel that they are invincible. Treat them as normal persons and they should only be paid their wages according to their performances. No minimum guarantee money should be offered to them as is the practice prevailing today.

Its the Indian Public
for having made those zeros in to heros
Its the Coach Chappel
he has scores to settle agaisnt India. he has done it now.
Its the sponsors and commercials
they gave them big money
making them feel that the entire nation is at their feet
They all should be booted, en mass
Cricket should be banned in India
Loss of 2000 crore, should make the Public realise their
above mistakes
and they should correct themselves
by
banning cricket or dumping cricket to the dust bin
