Being held this year on Wednesday, April 18th, The Day of Silence is an annual event held to commemorate and protest anti-LGBT bullying, harassment and discrimination in schools. Students and teachers nationwide will observe the day in silence to echo the silence that LGBT and ally students face everyday. In it's 11th year, the Day of Silence is one of the largest student-led actions in the country

That is a good idea - but I don't think I can participate. My job requires that I give verbal instructions throughout the day. I talk to leads, assemblers, suppliers and customers every day - the majority of whom would not know why I was refraining from talking.

I would have supported the concept in when I was in school!

Yes I've heard of it and I am a huge promoter of GSLEN. I live in the south, Georgia actually and we don't have any sort of support for groups such as that.That I can find. So each year I try to participate in it whether or not my school supports it.

Yes, and I'm grateful for the kids who participate and the teachers who let them.
