Not at all - it's horrible now. Esp. now that there's a group out there called "Votefortheworst.com".
The idea of the show is a good one, but the voting needs some rules and boundaries. And just like in Dancing with the Stars, the judges should have a say in voting so it doesn't get out of hand. It is a talent competition - not a popularity contest.
And once a vote has been placed from a number, any future calls should be blocked.
But serious, it has turned into a show about Cingular/AT&T/Ford for all of the advertisments promotions.
Also, this year - I think the IDOL producers knew this is the worst year ever - so they are trying to "FIX" it with the big names and goodwill efforts overseas..

It's just not the same. There wasn't enough talent in the top 12. The past American Idols have raised the bar pretty high, but that should be expected when something continues to go on after years. I think they need to step it up. I have no idea how Sanjaya even made it to HOLLYWOOD! Goodness!

no i can't stand american idol this year....there are only a few people that i like and that's Chris Sligh and Jordin Sparks. Everybody else is terrible and has no personality. Lakisha is a good singer...but she needs to be a rolemodel...and she's not exactly that! She is an unwed mother ((I'm not judging....)) but that is not an American "Idol" and I'm tired of that Blake guy doing beboxing on every song...its annoying...and everyone else just cannot sing! On the other hand, Chris is a youth song director at his church...he's a great singer....Jordin Sparks is an AWESOME singer and my most favorite one at that!

It depends its like hit or miss. I like the girl singers but the guys just are not that good this year. And i think its crazy that sanjaya is still there though ive heard there is a whole movement to keep him on because he's so bad.

Yeah, I don't think anyone is especially great this year. I'm getting really annoyed by Sanajya, but I bet he'll make it pretty far because stupid little tween girls and votefortheworst.com love him. That was so sickening how they showed that girl crying. I mean, come on...

I didn't really pay attention this season because no one was spectacular.
Sanjaya would be gone if EVERYONE WOULD STOP VOTING FOR HIM!!
