For your first year, Yahoo is by far the best. It is easy to setup or join. It is completely customizable even for average league sizes. Some of the advanced games are not available but I wouldn't recommend those in your first or even second year of playing. Adv features not avail in yahoo are Auction drafting and setting up divisions for larger leagues.
Which is something I am researching for next year, a 20 team keeper league with 10 teams NL only and 10 teams AL, with a playoff system similar to MLB with the final two week championship being the NL vs AL winner.

Sporting News, I think. A FREE league consists of Buyin and Selling players with a fixed Salary Cap that improves just like the stock market. Check it out and read the info if you are interested in those kind of Fantasy Games.

I am working oon answering this question for myself this year. last year i played only Yahoo, and I really enjoyed it. This year I am playing Yahoo, ESPN, MLB, Fox and CBS. So far the best thing I have found about a live draft, is ESPN has drafts starting every 5-10 minutes, so you can decide to join, and draft right away.
