I am ten weeks pregnant and I have gained about 2 and a half pounds total, but it's all concentrated right at my tummy. My pants and skirts are uncomfortable at the waist and hips, but I know I am several weeks away from needing maternity clothes.

I know the rubberband trick. That works great with some outfits, but not all.

I've seen ads in magazines for a "bella band"--stretchy fabric that allows you to leave pants unzipped without falling off or looking silly. Have you ever used one? If so how well did it work? What do they cost? Was it worth the investment?

I'm also open to other suggestions, BUT I don't do sweats in public--cute on some women, slouchy on me. I don't do overalls either--cute on some women, farmer-like on me.

Thanks!

I just bought a couple of pairs of pants a size bigger than what I usually wear. then I left the button undone and wore a belt. It worked ok for a couple of weeks. Then I gave up and went to maternity pants.

Hi! I'm 25 weeks pregnant and wearing maternity clothes. Honestly, you could start buying maternity clothes if you wanted. They are so comfy. Seriously, I think I started wearing them around 12 weeks, but that doesn't matter. Comfort is key right now. Don't feel silly about it, some women buy them earlier. :) Congrats.
