Oi! Don't be sexist. I'm a bloke and I do all the food shopping for me and the wife. I also do all the cooking at home. However, before you girls give me too big a halo, I am a qualified chef!. My wife is, however, an expert in finding where I have hidden the microwave!

The key to shopping is to plan it out - have a list, and avoid saturday mornings.

I keep a larder well stocked with essentials, and a freezer similarly stocked with meat. This means that I can buy foodstuffs that are on special offer, and save money accordingly. I keep a record book for what I have in the larder and freezer, and I compile a menu as to what we are going to eat in the next month, so I ensure all produce that I have in store is used within its date.

Another tip is to carry cash. I called into my local butcher today and found that he had 25 lamb noisettes that he had prepared for a local hotel left over. I was able to buy these for next to nothing (the hotel had already paid him for the meat). If I paid by card then the transaction would have to go through his accounts, but paying cash avoided that pitfall. I now have 25 lamb noisettes of restaurant quality in my freezer at about 45p each, and the butcher has got his beer money for tonight.

In response to the questioners additional question, my tribe is British, I'm not a 'new man' - I simply enjoy cooking and organising the menage!

I do the shopping EVERY week, plan all the meals and do all the cooking. The secret is to a) shop at Sainsburys (far fewer poor people, and you do get a better class of Chav in there) b) make your list in the order you will be going 'round the store so you don't forget anything c) wear an Ipod while you do it (but don't join in the singing or you'll get funny looks).

well, im sorry to say. actually im not sorry, but let me point out that i dont shop once a week. the last time i went shopping 1 1/2 weeks ago was the worst time eva. i hate shopping. id rather saty home and clean the house. i barely ever shop, maybe maybe 1-3 times a month. actually, probably only once a month. rarely ever twice a months, but it might happen ever so often. and note: im in my mid-teen yrs.

I quite enjoy shopping but it seems it's not for you.Did you know that you can shop online at Asda from the comfort of your Mansion? You can order in comfort and they will deliver to your posh front door so Cook can spend more time preparing your gourmet meals.

Hmm, sounds like your shopping trip was not very pleasant, oh well look on the bright side, at least you have a cook to do all your cooking (wish I did!)

Alright.

First of all. Don't be stupid. Before you travel make sure the place accepts your card OTHERWISE you need to get money exchanged into theirs.

Secondly girls love to shop! We know how to properly shop. It's just the way we are!
