freedoms, liberties, rights, and a separation of powers in the government. So why do some liberals want a re-distribution of wealth? Where is my liberty to make what i want? Are these liberals a genetic mutation of the classical liberal?

The root word of liberal is liberty. This word was coined during the revolution. The people who wanted no government control, no king, were called liberals. The liberals of 1776 actually wanted no government whatsoever.
The Bolshevik revolution in Russia, however, changed the meaning of the word. The liberals in Russia who fought against the king wanted socialists control, or the people owning and controlling everything collectively instead of a single person, the king.
Today's liberals think that everyone has the right to an equal share of the wealth of a nation regardless of their contribution to its creation. The concept has nothing to do with liberty anymore. It's all about money, free money.

They want more taxes BUT wont pay taxes.

Re-distribution of wealth?
The wealth should be re-distributed to the working class. Screw the rich; it should be easier for the poor to move up the social ladder. The working class are the backbone of this nation and we get shafted the most.

Both parties support a variation of 'redistribution of wealth'.
While the DNC might want to take my tax money and spend it on poorer Americans,
The GOP wants to take my tax money and spend it on Iraq.
So I'm stuck! Although I'd rather help Americans with my money instead of a desert.

In response to AnnMarie's post, since a lot of the "poor" sucking up our tax dollars are able to work, but find it easier to sit home and collect a check, or are illegals sucking up our health care and education dollars, I'd much prefer my tax dollars go to give our AMERICAN SOLDIERS what they need to do their job.
