The right wing propaganda machine is gearing up to back the next administration, or undermine it, but to do either it has to theoretically behave as if they believe some change is needed.

I am a staunch conservative and a Hispanic (gasp!) and I think Pres. Bush is wrong on immigration. He makes it way to easy for illegals to acquire full citizenship. I thought Bill was wrong and I'm glad to see he's coming around to a more conservative view point on this one. Bill's change of mind may not be all that you thought or wish it was since, as a "talking head", he echoed Pres. Bush's rather liberal view of immigration reform.
As far as Gonzales is concerned, you are just plain wrong. What part of "serves at the pleasure of the President" don't you and your mindless liberal friends get about US Attorneys and how they are HIRED AND FIRED? Of course some or all of them were fired for political reasons! Why not? It's within a Presidents rights as stated within the constitution. Bill Clinton/Janet Reno fired 92 out of 93 US Attorneys when they took over in 1992. All were holdovers from Reagan and Bush (I) administrations. Was this political? Of course because he had a different political/legal agenda. During Clinton's 8 years of administration, he fired a total of 30 more. 122 total US Attorneys fired! Where was the scandal then?
This administration's problem was it went to congress and apologized like there was something wrong in firing those US Attorneys. They should just stated it was well within the President's right.

Bush's position on Immigration reform is considered much to liberal for those on the right wing. Bush actually wants a legislative solution that would allow some of the 12 million illegals that are already in the U.S. to remain in the U.S. legally.
Those on the far right want to keep the current dysfunctional system where we occasionally round up people in random raids and talk about building fences.
