The top 'brands' are the teen stores, such as Abercrombie, Aeropostale, American Eagle, and Hollister. The clothes they sell here are the clothes that are major in the teen world. Because of this, they raise the price when they put it on the market, cause that would be the way they earn profit and many people still buy it.

Because, they market to a younger crowd that either has more disposable income or parents willing to pay the money. Honestly, Hollister (the next in the chain), American Eagle and Aeropostale sell the exact same stuff, it just depends on the little animal logo you want and if you really need the label. I buy my daughter clothes from all four stores and I have yet to see any good quality stuff come from any of them. Personally, I think that surf and skate wear (like Roxy, Quicksilver, Hurley) holds up better and much more worth the money.

Because Abercrombie has marketed cheapo clothes and people like you (no offense intended) paid for the clothes AND the marketing in addition to their profits, store furnishing and rent, and those dumb guys who stand around in the store throwing a nerf ball. At the end of the day, people will pay for the impression and social inclusion that the clothes are percieved to infuse their wearers with. Brilliant job, Abercrombie- no thanks though, I'm secure enough in myself to buy Columbia and other brands of stylish, durable, useful clothing for around the same price.

The key word here is ADVERTISING. Abercrombie spends millions of dollars on advertising. They also spend a hefty amount on the upkeep of their stores. These things translate to more expensive merchandise which is all HYPE. GAP or AMERICAN EAGLE has better quality denims and clothes.

they price their clothes high to make it "seem" like they're good and they'll last a long time. so that gets people to buy from their store more. but really they last about a few months nd they're trash. its ridiculous.
