My car mechanic told me to only use Shell gas for my 23-year old chevy, but wouldn't explain why.
I was wondering if there is truly a difference.

yes there is a difference but not a lot shell is good gas but bp premium 93 octane is also a very clean gas but being a 23yr old chevy it mite need gas with some lead in it.

ya think so.. I personally use the cheapest..On every car I ever owned! But then I had heard many years ago shell gas wasn't that good. And stopped using Chevron due to environment issues..
With the prices of gas here in So Cal I search for the cheapest. What ever company it maybe..

Despite popular belief, most gasoline comes from the same distributor. Some brands have additives that are advertised. No gas is really better than any other.

yes its different.. dont ever use bp or unbranded gas station, shell sunoco are the best.. for shell they use a very fine gas
