does not recognise their own DRU890A DVD drive or accept their own serial no. Where do I get website support fot this product.?

Are you asking about an 830A or an 890A? Because it looks like Sony has some info at http://sony.storagesupport.com/dvdrw/dru830adwn.htm for the 830A.
and there's an answer to someone's question at

and they're using an 830A.
