My dog does the same thing! We found that is we spray the garbage with a air freshener she leaves it alone. We also were putting it in to the "no smell" bags and she would still get it. But the air freshener worked. If you wash the garbage can that may help to. For your house smell, I washed my rugs with soap by hand and with a scrub brush and it worked for us. Hope this helps!

buy a diaper champ! those things are awesome, the lid locks on and it's got this sort of lever plunger thing that keeps the diapers (and the smell) completely locked in. My dogs will eat the diapers too like if I happen to leave one out, then I get to try to clean up all that gross gel stuff, uck. But with the diaper champ there's no way they can get to them. I think they cost around 30 bucks and you can get them at Target (and probably everywhere that sells baby stuff)

Ugh! i had a dog like that once...she used to like used Kotex on the bathroom garbage...get a Diaper Genie....I think we got ours at Toys R Us...the dog would thumbs in order to break it open and get to the diapers....it was a little costly, but well worth it not to have to chase a dog with a half eaten USED diaper around the house!

I had the same problem. I ended up having to put our trash can under a kitchen cabinet. Also, maybe you can take the diapers to the outside trash right after changing them.

Have you ever used a Diaper Genie? Those things are miracle workers!! They aren't really expensive, either. They're very easy to use, and if you put them in there, theres no way your dog can get into them. I looked it up for ya, and at Ba bies R Us, you can get a Diaper Genie for $29.99.

well... You could just throw the diaper away in the outdoor trashcan right away so that the dog can't find it. Frankly yes it might be a pain, but you do what you gotta do.
