sunflowers are pretty.they grow in full sun and are drought tolerant. my experience with them, after cutting, has not been very good.they only last a couple days. i worked at a place where a few flowers were sold, and when sunflowers came in,i bought a dozen plants for instant color. after a few days they died, planted outside. i asked why and was told the ones grown in greenhouses don't last. planting from seed is the only way.they are perennial,so you get to enjoy them for lots of summers! and they don't need good soil or fertilizer to thrive!

LOVE 'EM !!!

They grow like crazy! Really fast!

Don't know all the anwers, but they DO NEED SUN to grow well.

After cutting I would THINK they'd be fine for a long time because they're SO BIG--it's usually small, delicate flowers that flop & wilt.

Just ANY ol' dirt will do when you grow them, don't have to be picky about fertilizing & all that.

Probably stays in full bloom even at night, but I can't remember observing them at night when I had them.

HOWEVER, I think they attract BEES! Should be okay indoors tho' after cutting & just on display.

They're a pretty flower, especially for a wedding if you can get them to grow before the animals get to them just when they've sprouted. I have the hardest time getting them past the beginning stages. Good Luck and I think they would be very pretty for a wedding.
