I do not like emo music...
I think you are being a litle egoistic...
Let me expain, maybe you have the wrong image. No "Preppy" people like Emo music. It is sickening and disguisting. I would never want to invade such a horrid type of leisure.
Maybe there are a few people that like it, so what?? Stop being so paranoid, you don't own the type of music. Its a free country, ever thought of that?
All i'm saying is you need to not have such a rude demeanor. I can tell you do from this question

I say, let people like what they like. It's not like other people likeing the same music makes you any less original. Besides, you can always say "I was with this band from the start and I have all their albums from the day they were released." People just hopping on the bandwagon after it gets started can't really say the same thing. Although, it is true that immence popularity of bands tends to change their attitudes and then their music, but there's really nothing you can do about besides complain.

Why are all you "emo kids" listening to nothing but copies of metal and alternative from the 80s and 90s?

EMO is a movement made up but label records. so who care who listen to it, is not like this was an underground movement that suddenly became main stream, it was created mainstream from the beginning. get over your self, and learn to recognize when marketing directors are playing with you.

I would think that most preppy kids wouldn't listen to that crap anyway. After all, they're where they are at because they live their life trying to be accepted by society.
