Is there anyone in high school who listens to prog rock, or classic rock like the beatles, the who, pink floyd, the doors, eagles, led zepplin, elp, yes or classical music like stravinsky, mahler, tchaviosky, or jazz like miles davis ect. I find my tastes in good music only i will never be caught listening to alternative rock or rap music. And the only new music i find myself listening to is jazz or classical like sountracks ect. Am i the only one or are their others in high school with musical tastes like me i always find myself out of the music conversations b/c of my tastes though i like more music and have a larger collection than they do.

Oh, good sir, you are not the only one! I myself am in high school with tastes that match yours almost to the t. I have a friend who's even more of a proghead than I am, and there are many kids in my school who, while shying from prog, love classic rock with a passion. You might want to check out www.progarchives.com, on the forums you can find many who share your passion and can engage in intelligent conversation about prog.

I'm not in high school yet, but I do love many of those bands. Not sure about Elp (Did you mean ELO, Electric Light Orchestra?), and I don't really like Yes, but Pink Floyd is my favorite. I don't listen to much classical, but some contemporary orchestral and choral music is nice. I don't really have much jazz, but occasionally I'll listen to my mom's Dr. John (you would consider him jazz, right?). My cousin loves soundtracks, and I like some of them whenever I need to find inspiration.
I don't like alternative, and I can't stand crap. Er, rap.

I have always listened to that kind of music, to this day people still make fun of me. You know what though, I have good taste, and I can see you do too for that matter. Although I also listen to Country, Hip-hop, Alternative and just about everything else. I love music and I listen to a big variety.

I'm not in high skool but I like Led Zeppelin. My mom does too. I'm soon to be in high skool though. Sorry bout the others though. I'm used to rock music.

no, both of my friend's bros love that kind of rock.
but whats wrong with alternative rock? just wondering...
i mostly listen to metal and other forms of rock...but i do have classic rock on my iPod!

jazz is awesome. i love it. but i like rap too. everyone in ur high school is just tryin to fit in and be the same. listen to what u like!!!!!!!!!! =]
