an asteroid is going to hit us in the year 2037 is a false statement. there is going to be an asteroid that's orbit will bring it within a couple 100'ed miles of earth. the thing that frightens everyone is that this asteroid has the potential to be catastrophic. however the studies have shown this asteroid will come "near" earth.I guess its more of an eye opener for people who don't think asteroids can effect us or that we don't need to consider them. when the facts are, we need to keep our eyes looking upward to the heavens. because this potential "world enders" can be dealt with before catastrophe. and those are the facts.

I can't remember the name of the asteroid thats scheduled for the 2037 encounter, but I'm quite sure it won't make impact with Earth. Estimates made in 2004 still hold true that this rock should pass within a several hundered to a few thousand miles from Earth. And while this is a little too close for comfort, unless there is some sort of shift in the asteroid's orbit, it will not harm us. The thing that people are so worried about is the fact that this particular asteroid is absolutely massive. If it were to hypothetically hit us, it most certainly cause an amount of devastation that could never be rectified.

Hi. There is a small chance of an impact, just as there is every year. But don't worry about it. The chance is VERY small.
