There is no such thing as the good old days. The best time to be is right now, because it is the only one you have to make the best of. Every time and every era has its good and bad.

People tend tend to romanticize the past, because we are often good at repressing the bad of our pasts and exaggerating our past good experiences. The truth lays somewhere in between.

Once upon a time I thought I would liked to have lived in the 1800's or even earlier than that. As I got older and got used to modern conveniences, modern technology, and the medical advances of today, I figured that wouldn't be such a good idea. People never took baths and I really find B.O. to be offensive. Although if I was born in that time I would know no different.
Now I think, without getting political, that the human race, with all its problems is actually advancing to better themselves. I would like to be born in the future. Of course what worries me is our natural resources. What will be come of our ozone, global warming, our own sun? Will it burn out? Will we overpopulate the earth and run out of trees, therefore poisoning our own air? Maybe, for most of this I believe we will adapt. We will live on the moon, We will have space stations and colonies. We will become Star Trek.
So, in short, I am happy in the time I am in now but if I had a choice, I would pick the future. We have come so far in the last 200 years, just think where we can be in another 200.

I was born in 1984. I wish I could have experienced the '30s, '40s, and all of the '80s not just the latter part of that decade.
