Well now, this is fun:) Red is known to us in society as the color for Danger. But if Purple were to be used then we would equate that colour for danger. Actually, when you think about it. Red is not a color that is very bright compared to "orange". Lime green is a pretty bright color. I think the color for stop should be an attention grabber. So I am saying since green is already used for "go" my choice is "neon" orange. The department of highways will just have to get another color for their pylons.lol.

Orange. Signs are different colours for a reason. Red of course is the best choice but orange would be next because it is used as a cautionary colour.

Yellow background- black lettering. Most visible;but, that combo is used for information signs.

Orange background green lettering-bold statement.

White on a dark background. That shows up well.

Red is still the best colour, because it conveys danger in any language.

I should say neon green with neon yellow background as it makes the sign cooler to the eyes and probably drivers tend to follow it because of the effect of the color to their mind as its not provocative unlike strong color they tend to sore your eyes.

by way of fact the colour 'purple' has been used to point 'give up' for a protracted time, changing it could be complicated. If I have been to make a 2nd determination, it could be 'Yellow' because it exhibits warning, the subsequent to purple.
