There are massive variations between women. It has been suggested that women are likely to begin the menopausal changes at a similar age to what their mother was when she did. If you are able to talk to your mother you could ask her and see if this correlated with your sister. But don't worry about it too much. Just enjoy the wisdom that comes with years!

Average age for menopause is 51 but it can easily come at 40 or at 55. The effects are usually evident in a mild way for a couple of years before your periods finally cease.

It depends on your lifestyle. If you are still sexually active, the hormones are still supplying and hence you will continue to have periods. I know a girl who has got the menopause at 45 years after she got a vasectomy operation performed on her.

You know it just depends on the individual.

My mother still has hot flashes at 65.

I wouldn't worry about it. Enjoy your life now as it is.
