Without question, Columbia University, which has been established for a long time, and has had a long line of distinguished professors and researchers. The Columbia-Presbyterian Hospital, where Columbia students train and intern, is a justly famous institution. That said, I am sure that New York University has a very respectable medical school.

Actually check out all your options before settling on a school and look at all medical schools and there should be a few factors to consider:

GPA(higher GPAs guarantee better scholarship, grants and fellowship opportunities)
Location(in state schools are cheaper versus going out of state)
Cost(tuition is cheaper in state than out of state)
Reptuation(high graduate turn out and frequency in job placement)
National ranking(higher tiered schools are better)

Look at those factors as your decision making tool for medical school. If you're not out of college yet get a job working as a medical technician to get clinical experience and to be employed while in school.
