I just started a job a week ago and in an attempt to make friends I set up a lunch with a coworker several days in advance. At 11:30am that day I get an email from my boss asking if me and other new employee would like to go to lunch...at noon! Not enough time to cancel so I declined, saying I already had lunch plans and that the following day or week would be fine...now I'm wondering if I just should have stood up my lunch date.
