isnt that the whole point of being a goth? to be different? if u dress like a total clown, do u really expect everybody else to treat u like nothin's going on? the way u dress is how u present urself. i think those clowns are just dressing up like that to get attention.

People treat goths differently because goths go to a lot of trouble to make themselves out to be different than everyone else.
But we're all the same.

I don't treat goth people differently at all. If they are nice, I treat w/ respect. If they are assholes, then I will treat them as if they are assholes. Same as I do anyone else.
I view them as people. They are actually really nice. They just see things from a different perspective than most. They see the beauty in darker things, and I find that amazing. It's a rare feat to have, and it beautiful.
Goths are people. That's how I treat them.

I don't know that they do. Maybe they are just paranoid. It's mostly young people who are 'goths', isn't it? It's normal for youths to seek attention and rebell against authority by changing their appearance to be different than the rest of society. If they were uncomfortable with the way they are treated, wouldn't they change their style of dress? As far as I know, no one is born a 'goth'. Don't they want to be treated differently by dressing this way? I would say if they are receiving such attention then it's 'Mission accomplished'.

-They whine when many people have it worse than them.
-Other people don't like to be around these strange people.
-Columbine is what made many people run away from goths. Two goths killed many people, and now most people think they are prone to violence.
-They just depress other people around them and aren't good friends.

"Goths", to me, are people who force themselves to see the worst parts of life.

sometimes when your external appearance is different from average, people tend to treat you differently, not everybody is open minded or respect others right to express themselves, don't let it bother you though.

In my opinion, people can be who they want to be. Why should anyone pick on them for being independent and doing what they feel is right?
