Professionals charge you moon for their time and hence it is best to buy a new one. Or else if you have friend who is a computer hardware engineer, he will do it for free.

First answer is correct. IF, you can not fix it yourself, just buy a new one. Labor will cost you more than a new HDD. Try fixing it yourself, it already broke, nothing to lose and you may fix it.
One thing you may try; if there a Tech School around call and talk to a Teacher that teach Computer Repair. He may have a Student fix it for free to get some hands on training.
